services of Employment Assistance Matters
provides clients the expertise and experience of two advisers who
have each a wealth of knowledge gained from operating at Senior
Management positions in multi-national Companies.
This ensures clients are provided with advice,
which not only meets with legislative requirements, but is practical
and pragmatic in terms of its application to the client organisation.
John Shanks has been a HR practitioner for the
past 30 years and until recently was the senior HR Manager for Bass
Ireland, part of the InBev group, now the largest brewer in the
world. Given the complexity of the Bass Ireland business, John has
practical experience of all aspects dealing with people related
matters, Trade Union Negotiations and the application of Employment
Legislation in which he has a Masters Degree. John also holds the
NEBOSH certificate, on Occupational Safety and Health and is a past
Chairman of the Northern Ireland Forum on Industrial Relations.
Robert Mowbray recently retired from the position
of HR Director of Bass Ireland, a role in which he was responsible
for the development and application of strategic HR policies aligned
to requirements of the objectives of the business. Robert also led
a number of major Change Initiatives, and was responsible for the
integration of the business following the purchase of Bass Ireland
by Interbrew. Allied to this, Robert was at the forefront of changing
the Company reward structure to one based on individual/group performance
allied to Company targets and profitability. Prior to this position,
Robert was responsible for development and roll out of a Total Quality
culture – including the achievement of ISO 9002. He also held
senior positions in Sales and Production, providing him with a wealth
of knowledge and experience in the areas of HR and General Management.
Together they bring their clients a unique
blend of practical and pragmatic solutions to a host of organisational
issues – whether they are in the Private, Public or Voluntary
sector.
